Vasiliki Millousi

Mixed Group 6 contains an exciting group of gymnasts. We have a gymnast from each of Sweden, Greece, Argentina, Finland, and (South) Korea. The gymnast from Greece could make a very significant dent in the balance beam finals and could potentially upset someone from the Big 4 countries (USA, Russia, Romania, China) for a medal. Let's learn more about Mixed Group 6.
Watch for! Vasiliki Millousi making BB EF and potentially getting a medal!
Jonna Adlerteg, Sweden (SWE)
Jonna Adlerteg placed 42nd at the Test Event. Her best event is UB. She had a significant error on bars at the 2012 European Championships otherwise she could have made the event finals. Adlerteg was in 18th place after earning a 13.765 (5.8/7.875) while a 14.266 made it to the event finals. Adlerteg was Sweden's rising junior as she was present at the 2010 Singapore Youth Olympics where fellow young stars like Viktoria Komova, Tan Sixin, and Carlotta Ferlito competed. At the YOG, she placed 10th in the all around and placed 3rd in the uneven bars final with the highest execution score of that final (8.45). On bars, she does a toe-on full to Tkatchev, has a Jaeger in her routine, and dismounts with a double layout. On beam, she does a front pike to back handspring - layout step out, front aerial-sheep jump, and dismounts with a double tuck. On floor, she has a 2.5 twist to stag jump.
D-Scores: VT - 5.0, UB - 5.9, BB - 5.0, FX - 5.0

Vasiliki Millousi, Greece (GRE)
Vasiliki Millousi is a big name to follow during the Olympics. She placed 25th at the Test Event but her most exciting piece is beam where she hopes to make event finals and medal. Millousi has the difficulty, polish, and maturity on the beam that no other athlete possesses. She dances along the beam and still has enough difficulty to be considered one of the greatest. At the Test Event, she made it to event finals and tied for 1st with Carlotta Ferlito of Italy. Since then, she has been competing on the World Cup stage, practicing her routine numerous times in front of judges to help build the reputation of her exquisite beam routine. She mounts the beam with a round-off onto the spring board and a layout stepout onto the beam. She has a lovely switch ring and such exact movements throughout her routine and excellent poses that show off her flexibility.
Millousi will be competing in the all around as Greece's sole female qualifier. On bars, she has a straddled Jaeger as well as a clear hip hecht (clear hip shoot to high bar). On floor, Millousi mounts with a double tuck. She has a Y turn (turn with leg at head) as a dance element as well as a switch ring in her routine. Her ending choreography is lovely!
D-Scores: VT - 4.4, UB - 5.1, BB - 6.1, FX - 5.0

Valeria Pereyra, Argentina (ARG)
Valeria Pereyra only started taking gymnastics seriously at age 11, 5 years ago. Her hard work in the recent years has shown since she qualified to London by placing 46th at the Test Event. On bars, she does both a straddled and piked Jaeger and dismounts with a full twisting double back. On balance beam, she does a back handspring-back pike, switch split-back tuck, L-turn connected to another turn, and dismounts with a double tuck (not shown in video linked below). Her beam is very nice and exact while still containing interesting choreography. On floor, she does a 1.5 to double tuck mount, a full in tucked, does a double L turn (leg at horizontal), and dismounts with a double pike. I strongly recommend you watch her floor routine too!
D-Scores: VT - 5.0, UB - 5.2, BB (dbl tuck dismount) - 4.7, FX - 5.1

Annika Urvikko, Finland (FIN)
Annika Urvikko placed 60th at the Test Event to earn her spot at the 2012 London Olympic Games. She has 2 vaults, both out of a 5.0. One is a full twisting Yurchenko, the other is a front handspring pike with a half turn out. Urvikko is a very fast and agressive bar worker. Her routine consists of a piked Jaeger salto, and dismounts bars with a double front. Her beam contains a back handspring-layout stepout, a switch split-side aerial, and dismounts with a double tuck. On floor, she mounts with a very strong double arabian, has a double turn dance element, and dismounts with a double pike.
D-Scores: VT - 5.0, UB - 5.4, BB - 4.9, FX - 5.0

Heo Seon Mi, Korea (KOR)
Throughout 2011 Worlds, many who were there were raving about how good the Koreans looked. Unfortunately, they made errors and were not able to qualify a team to the Olympics based on their performance at Worlds. Their performance at the Test Event was not enough to qualify a team to London. Instead, only 1 gymnast is able to attend. Korea has decided to send Heo Seon Mi as their sole gymnast. Heo placed 18th at the Test Event - above athletes like Rebecca Tunney (GBR) and Victoria Moors (CAN). If she remains consistent throughout qualification, I think she stands a good shot at making the all-around final. Heo vaults a 1.5 twisting Yurchenko. Bars are her best event where she does a clear hip full-Tkatchev-pak, Shaposhnikova 1/2 (Khorkina II), a Markelov (Khorkina I), and dismounts with a double layout. On beam, she does a front aerial-back handspring-layout stepout, a 1.5 Y turn, and dismounts with a double pike. On floor, she has a nice double layout, a very exact double turn, a switch ring, and dismounts with a double pike. She could make a presence in the all around and maybe even be a surprise qualifier to the UB final.
D-Scores: VT - 5.3, UB - 6.0, BB - 5.4, FX - 5.6
