The Nominative list always causes speculation but with the recent slew of illnesses and injuries, the list has changed and will likely continue to change until the final deadline. Here's a look, country-by-country, of the some of the recent updates. I find that I miss a few things each time I look at it so hopefully this helps us all to notice some interesting things!

Nominative List can be found here as of 9/20

Canada is sending Ellie Black, Maegan Chant, Kaitlyn Hofland, and Victoria Moors. Black is doing all around and Chant is doing vault and floor exercise, as expected. Interestingly, Kaitlyn Hofland is doing VT, UB, BB while Moors is doing UB, BB, FX. Again, these are subject to change but it will be interesting to see what Moors does about that pesky double double.

China's team has not changed - Yao Jinnan and Shang Chunsong will both be doing all around. Huang Huidan will be doing UB and Zeng Siqi will compete on the beam.

Spain's (ESP) Maria Paula Vargas had to withdraw due to injury. Of note, Silvia Colussi-Pelaez has competed the sideways side so if she successfully competes it, she can have it named. However, she's started the school year at the University of Florida so I'm still confused...

This video shows the sideways side aerial but you can watch a video of her from PT for the Test Event here

Great Britain sends an exciting team of bar workers. Rebecca Downie returns to the major international stage and will compete beam and bars. Rebecca Tunney and Ruby Harrold will compete all around and Hannah Whelan rounds out the group competing on floor exercise.

Germany is not sending Lisak Katherina Hill (injury) or Kim Bui (focusing on school). They will have great bar workers Eli Seitz and Sophie Scheder.

Just so you know - IRL is Ireland, ISL is Iceland and ISR is Israel. Most exciting of the 3, is Israel sending Ofir Nezer to compete on VT and FX. She's only competing those two events which makes you wonder if we can expect vault upgrades from her. Nezer came in 4th on vault at the European Championships with a tucked FHS 1/1 (5.3) and Tsuk 1/1 (5.2). It will be interesting to see what she does.

Italy is sending Vanessa Ferrari and Carlotta Ferlito for the AA. They will be joined by Alessia Leolini who will compete VT, UB, FX. Francesca Deagostini had a big year leading up to the Olympics but fell short and was not named to the team. She seemed to disappear for some time since she was struggling with injuries and in that time grew 12 cm/4.7 inches! She will compete on her best event, beam.

Mexico is indeed sending Karla Torres. Some politics took the girls from Regio Gym Club out of contention - Elsa Garcia, Marisela Cantu, and Karla Salazar. It's unknown if Alexa Moreno was involved with this or if she has an injury.

Netherland's is sending Vera van Pol in place of Wyomi Masela, who is out with an Achilles injury. She will compete on VT and FX while Sanne Wevers will compete on UB and BB. Noel van Klaveren and Chantysha Netteb are the 2 all arounders.

Romania has had to remove Diana Bulimar due to injury but they have decided to add in one of the 2 remaining seniors - Stefania Alina Stanila. She will compete on balance beam and floor exercise. Iordache is competing all around while Sandra Izbasa is currently listed to do vault and floor exercise. We'll have to wait and see if Izbasa has 2 vaults and what they are.

Russia - The interesting thing's for Russia is that Paseka is not listed on UB, just VT and FX while Anna Rodionova has been chosen to compete UB and BB. Nabieva and Mustafina will do AA.

Uzbekistan welcomes the return of Oksana Chusovitna who will compete in everything but floor exercise.
